Bubba is a nickname that was given to me in the 80's by a gorgeously handsome American soldier; my real name is Myrna and my home is in Manitoba, Canada.
I'm a nurse in a rural hospital, having left the big city and a tertiary hospital to raise my toddler son and assist with caring for my aging mother. I love my chosen career and I love my children, but not necessarily in that order.
Blogging is like therapy for me and I love when people comment on my blog, either through Facebook or via Twitter.
Financially speaking . . .
Its no secret that nurses earn a decent wage; for details, see my post "Financial Taboo."I've dug myself into a deep financial hole and need to dig myself out. Note that I am not blaming anyone else, as there is no one else to blame but myself.
Since the birth of my grandson on March 30, 2008, I have been financially responsible for him and since August 1 of the same year I have been his guardian.
Little Kev is the "sunshine" of my life and I'm raising him as if he were my own. The only concern is that I love spending time with him so much that I work a little less than I was pre-baby.
I've decided that I would like to purchase my childhood home when my mother makes the move into more supportive housing.
As things are now in my financial life, I don't stand much of a chance of getting a mortgage without the assistance of others. I'm stubborn and fiercely independent, I want to do it on my own.
Thus, this blog was born, partly as a means to earn me some supplemental income and partly to share my day to day struggles with you, the reader.
I'm hoping to learn some things along the way; my lessons will be passed on to you.
Comments are always welcome.
